Objectives of the Course Reviewing the economic history of Turkey.
Showing examples of changes in institutional settings of the Turkish economy.
Introducing economic resources of Turkey.
Providing examples of specific economic policies used in Turkey.
Course Content Aims of the course include explaining the timeline of events in Turkey’s economy and thus, also, examining related applications of economic theories with the example case of Turkey. Turkey’s economy starting from the 19th century and its reforms, economic crises, institutional policies, inflation targeting policies, establishment and history of the central bank, exchange rate policies and related subjects are examined.
