Objectives of the Course Introducing the mechanics of financial markets.
Introducing theories on why money is important for inflation, economic activity and interest rates.
Defining major money and capital market instruments.
Course Content The course is designed to develop students’ abilities to understand the functions of and to analyze monetary policies and the banking system. Subjects such as monetary theory, monetary policy, banking and banking types, interest rate hypotheses, inflation, exchange rate, financial markets, central bank and its functions are examined. In addition, it is aimed to increase and deepen students’ interest in monetary and financial issues found both in the literature and in real life throughout the course.
