Objectives of the Course The main objective is to introduce students to key current and historical issues in personality. Specifically, the aims are that students should develop their understanding of personality and individual differences, compare and contrast various viewpoints in understanding personality, and evaluate empirical findings of personality research. The students will also develop core skills of written and oral communication, as well as process skills of teamwork, problem-solving, ethical sensitivity, and empathy.
Course Content In this course, students examine a set of theories of personality. They will learn the strengths and weaknesses of these theories. The implications of these theories on other fields of psychology will be discussed. The research methods and empirical findings of personality science (i.e., the contemporary field of research) will also be explored.
Course Methods and Techniques Teaching methods include the following:
• Lectures on topics in personality.
• Case discussions
• Class activities and discussions.
• Recommended readings on topics relating to personality.
• Active learning exercises
• Assignments

Students are required to do personality-log (self-reflection) exercises (5 chapters) in the assigned weeks.
The exams will include open-ended questions on case studies. Several examples of case discussions will be implemented in the class
