Objectives of the Course The objectives of the course are;

• to raise awareness of the students on how humans understand the world around us

• to familiarise the students with how human mind operates and how we retrieve memories and use them to comprehend the world
Course Content The course contains the topics on how we, the human beings, basically understand the world around and so respond to it via giving more emphasis on the human mental processes, such as attention and memory. The course, therefore, covers the following topics respectively: introduction to cognitive psychology and brain, sensation and perception, and human mental processes, where the latest covers attention, information processing, and retrieval processes (i.e., memory).

2 differentiate the processes of human sensation, perception, and cognition;

4 list how evidence is gathered in psychology research in order, particularly in experimental psychology;
