Objectives of the Course Discussing relations of the landscape and city furniture with its context.
Comprehending interdisciplinary study during a design process.
Examining the behaviors of different materials for a production of a design.
Practicing different production techniques of a design with details.
Course Content The course is based on design fabrication and its professional application process, in related with interdisciplinary design problem solving. It is focused on not only a design process but also its technical project and construction requirements. The aim of the course is to design and construct landscape and city furniture. User requirements and context are used as an input during all stages of the design process.
Course Methods and Techniques Learners will be provided with as much opportunities of hands-on practice as possible with the aim of striking a balance between learner-centeredness and sufficient guidance. Various forms of interaction (i.e. pair work and group work) will also be encouraged to cater for learners with different learning styles. Additionally, individuals will be expected to produce both in-class writings and homework assignments in addition to the reading tasks, which will encourage them to reflect and think critically. Technology will also be incorporated into the classroom procedures in order to create a better learning environment.
