Objectives of the Course
The course at the undergraduate program level provides basic training for architecture students to express themselves in the context of the art and technique of architectural design using 2D freehand drawing as a medium. Drawing is recognized as the primary medium through which ideas are translated into concrete concepts, allowing for the exploration of design opportunities and the effective presentation of architectural solutions being developed in the studio environment. In this course, students develop the skills and habits to quickly express themselves through pen and paper using the principles of architectural geometry, three-dimensional thinking and advanced drawing techniques. Through theoretical instruction and classroom practice, students gain competence in expressing design ideas through artistic representation

Course Content
1. Concept Visualization: Delve into the core purpose of drawing as a tool for translating abstract architectural concepts into visually compelling forms. Explore how drawings can bring ideas to life and facilitate the communication of complex design narratives. Analyzing how the particular and complex mediated fact of digital photography allows for new means to describe architecture 2. Architectural Geometry: Acquire a solid understanding of the mathematical foundations that underpin architectural forms. Learn to apply geometrical principles to create precise and harmonious designs, resulting in structures that seamlessly integrate with their surroundings. 3. Three-Dimensional Thinking: Develop a heightened spatial awareness and cultivate the ability to envision architectural compositions from various angles and perspectives. Practice translating three-dimensional mental constructs into two-dimensional representations, honing skills essential for effective design communication

Course Methods and Techniques
1. Translate abstract architectural ideas into compelling visual concepts through drawing. 2. Develop skills to represent three-dimensional spaces accurately. 3. Embrace iterative design exploration using drawing as a dynamic tool. 4. Evaluate designs critically, considering historical and contemporary contexts for informed decision-making. 5. Students are encouraged to articulate their personal design concepts through the medium of freehand sketching.
