Objectives of the Course
|
The aim in this class is to examine key theoretical approaches to understanding and analyzing the role of digital and interactive media in contemporary society and culture.
|
Course Content
|
Theories and literature draw from multiple disciplines and perspectives including media studies, communication, psychology and business management. New media theories are one of the most important parts of the class. Identity and social relationships will be other topics of the class and they will be discussed from psychological perspective. Public sphere, hate crime and digital labor topics will be analyzed from the perspective of politics.
