Objectives of the Course This course provides a comprehensive overview of research logic, design, data collection, and data reduction/analysis methods in psychological science. It covers the entire research life cycle: from generating research questions and hypothesis testing to managing validity threats, understanding probability distributions, applying descriptive/inferential statistical principles, and reporting findings in APA style. The objectives of the course are:
• To introduce students to the fundamental principles of scientific inquiry, research design, and ethical standards in psychology.
• To develop skills in hypothesis formulation, variable operationalization, and controlling confounding factors.
• To provide a foundational understanding of data reduction, scale levels, central tendency, dispersion, normal distribution, and inferential decision-making.
• To equip students with practical skills in academic literature searching and writing structured research reports according to APA guidelines.
