Objectives of the Course
|
The students successfully complete this course will be able to understand the fundamental design process of steel structures, to have an awareness of the interactions between building codes (especially AISC LRFD specification provisions) and steel structure design, and also to have the designing ability for the basic members in steel structures.

Course Content
|
This course, briefly, consist of general knowledge about building codes and structural steel mechanical properties, and also Load and Resistance Factor based design of tension members, bolted and welded connections, compression members, laterally supported beams, lateral-torsional buckling beams, and flexural and axially loaded members in steel structures.
