Course Learning Outcomes: Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
NoLearning Outcomes
1 Identify different microscopes and experimentally differentiate domains of life, bacteria types, and cell structures of prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
2 Classify microorganisms based on physical growth requirements, distinguish media types, grow and monitor bacteria, and apply preservation techniques.
3 Explain anabolism, catabolism, and metabolic pathways for energy production in microorganisms.
4 Describe bacterial genetics, gene expression regulation, mutation types, and genetic transfer mechanisms.
5 Experimentally grow microorganisms under sterilization techniques, measure microbial growth and control microbial growth using antibiotics.
