Objectives of the Course - Familiarize students with the main concepts of economics.
- Familiarize students with the consumer behaviour.
- Familiarize students with the firm behaviour.
- Familiarize students with the different types of markets (competitive
market, monopoly and oligopoly
Course Content This is an introductory course of microeconomics. The course contains theoretical information on how economic affairs function, the way individuals, households and firms behave and make decisions, and the principles of allocation of resources. In addition to these subjects, different types of market structures and how these markets work are explained.
Course Methods and Techniques This course will primarily be conducted through lectures. Regular lectures will be held to ensure that students learn and understand the concepts of microeconomics. During the lectures, key topics and theoretical information will be covered, and explanations will be provided to help students grasp the material. To reinforce understanding of the topics covered in class, quizzes will be administered at regular intervals, and these quizzes will be used to assess students' knowledge.

This course covers the fundamental concepts of microeconomics. It begins with the analysis of demand and supply relations and market equilibrium. Next, it focuses on consumer and firm behavior, examining decision-making processes. Various market structures, such as competitive markets, monopolies, and oligopolies, will also be thoroughly explored. Each topic will be supported by relevant theories and examples, and understanding will be reinforced through quizzes.
