Objectives of the Course
|
Introducing theories of behavioral economics. Providing knowledge on the fundamental assumptions of neoclassical economics. Showing examples of how behavioral economic theory modified decision making models in economics.

Course Content
|
Focus of the course content is taken as methodological discussions in classical economics. Neoclassical vs. mainstream assumptions for decision making processes of economic agents are discussed. Rationality assumption is discussed among initial topics. Behavioral decision theory, social preferences, time preferences, behavioral game theory, bounded rationality, and recent subjects and developments in fields of behavioral economics and experimental economics in relation to behavioral economics are also examined.

Course Methods and Techniques
|
Learners will be provided with as much opportunities of hands-on practice as possible with the aim of striking a balance between learner-centeredness and sufficient guidance. Various forms of interaction (i.e. pair work and group work) will also be encouraged to cater for learners with different learning styles. Technology will also be incorporated into the classroom procedures in order to create a better learning environment.
