Objectives of the Course Defining the system of national income accounting.
Introducing basic macroeconomic models.
Introducing monetary and fiscal policy.
Providing theories to analyze economic issues such as unemployment, inflation, and economic growth.
Course Content Course is designed as a further introduction to macroeconomic theory built upon the foundations of basic macroeconomics at undergraduate level. Students are introduced to basic macroeconomic models in order to understand how the aggregated decisions of households, enterprises and the state influence national income, employment, price level, interest rates, and other related macroeconomic variables. Furthermore, these models are applied to understand the tools of monetary and fiscal policy, and to analyze problems such as unemployment and inflation.
Course Methods and Techniques Students will actively acquire knowledge and skills by reading at home the necessary texbook passages, discussing them in class, practising their skills during homework and by preparing a group prject.
